THE EDITORIAL METHOD

Keep the question.
Test the explanation.

A source-linked atlas needs more than a compelling analogy. Every chapter must make clear what changes, how it is measured, and what the evidence actually supports.

ONE CLAIM AT A TIME

Four outcomes
to keep separate.

An animation can make these events look alike. A scientific account must distinguish them.

1. A waveform changes.

Position, amplitude, duration, frequency or shape can change through ordinary evolution or a controlled interaction. Identify the field or measured quantity being plotted.

2. Energy moves.

Absorption, damping, scattering and conversion can remove energy from the observed mode. Track the material, other modes, radiation and external drive.

3. Local interference is suppressed.

Environmental correlations and uncontrolled phase changes can reduce measurable visibility. That observation needs a specified experiment and competing explanations.

4. A quantum outcome is recorded.

Textbook state updates, interpretations of measurement and proposed objective-collapse dynamics are different layers of description. State which one a claim concerns.

THE EVIDENCE LADDER

Read the result
at its actual scale.

Established model: identify assumptions and the domain in which it has been tested.

Published experiment: name the apparatus, measured observable and reported range. Credit the researchers who performed it.

Theoretical proposal: state the new assumption and the prediction that could distinguish it.

Concept illustration: label it as an explanation, not experimental data.

Proposed project: describe the intended test without claiming it has been performed.

EVERY ARTICLE’S MINIMUM RECORD

A route someone else
can follow.

QuestionRequired record
What system?Wave type, material, geometry, prepared state and relevant scale.
What operation? The variable changed, how it is applied and what remains fixed.
What observable? The quantity measured, detector response, calibration and uncertainty.
What changed?Energy, shape, mode population, coherence or a measurement record.
What else explains it?Baseline physics, losses, heating, environmental coupling and instrument effects.
What source?Original paper or official record, with source type and specific limits.
What would change our view?A discriminating prediction, repeatable test and stated rejection criteria.
TRANSPARENCY

Authorship,
corrections
and review.

This design edition contains AI-assisted research and editorial drafts under Christopher Hill’s project direction. The two sample articles have source checks and internal editorial review; they have not received independent scientific peer review.

Before a wider release, each article needs its own evidence check, named editorial responsibility and correction history. No source is described as read in full when verification was limited to an abstract, metadata or official summary.

A source library is a starting point. It is not a substitute for checking the precise claim a page makes.
